Artist's Statement

Painting is my passion. I express that passion primarily through color and pattern. Occasionally through line. I paint what I see, although I may not see it all at the same time or in the same place. Media and style change to suit the subject or the moment or my mood. Making a connection to another person through the visual medium has always been extemely gratifying but the act of creating remains that, an act that may secondarily be a statement.

Artist's Bio

Educated at Georgia State University, the Atlanta College of Art, the Portfolio Center and with several private instructors, I worked professionally as a designer and illustrator until a few years ago when I decided it was time to return to painting in earnest. I have only recently begun showing again, although previous work has been exhibited extensively.

I have lived in Atlanta since I was seven years old. The city and I have been through a lot together. My children and all but one of my six grandchildren were born here. I am a southeastern regional artist to the bone.

My work has been commissioned by clients such as Canada Life Assurance, Glaxo Pharmaceuticals, Disney Corporation, a number of religious institutions and private collectors.
